Specialist Photographer for :- Children Portrait photography Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: My style is mostly natural. My studio is a natural light studio. I specialise in Pet Photography offering three packages. I also photograph a day in the life of families and their pets within the family home. I creatively put together the imagery into beautiful handcrafted books. My greatest strengths: My greatest strength would be my unbreakable patience and eye for attention to detail I have been in photography: I launched Pepperpots Photography in January 2015, I relaunched Karen Bennett Photography in January 2017. Photography has been a vocation that I've wanted to follow over the past ten years. I have planned, invested, trained and learned from experts at workshops and business owners at professional networking groups. My business operates from the family home in a purpose built studio within a redesigned, beautifully laid out enclosed garden, backing on to countryside. I offer a studio shoot, with a very short walk from the studio to open fields, woodland and streams to achieve those important action shots, or a favourite place chosen by the client. How I got started in photography: I started my interest in Photography when my eldest daughter turned 14. Watching my children grow up and mature it became apparent that they were needing my attention and time less and less. It was time to start to look for something to fill that time. Always being creative I took up an online photography diploma course and have never stopped learning since. I absolutely love it! My photographic skills: My key skills are definitely having a hunger to create better photographs. I have an affinity with all animals. My personality: My personality: I am passionate, committed, compassionate and honest Geographic areas I cover: The areas I cover are Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire but would be happy to travel anywhere. Venues I frequently attend: I love photographing on the beach, open downs and wooded areas but I am happy to visit any location that is suggested. I found inspiration from: I get inspiration from the reaction of my clients when they view their photographs and other photographers work such as Jonathan Critchely and Mark Harvey. Success in photography: I have been successful in attaining a Licentiate with The Societies and a Licentiate with The Master Photographers Association. I have Nine Highly Commended awards with The Societies and One Gold. One of my images made it in to the Top 5 of The Photographer Academy Live Critique Photographic training: Diploma of Professional Photography Tracey Willis Workshop Creative Live Animal Photography Rachel Hale McKenna Webinar with Emily Hancock (equine photographer) Skype training with Emily Hancock Maria T Michael Pet Photography Workshop My interests outside photography: Other than photography I love to walk my dog and as a family we head to the high seas for a spot of sailing but that usually involves taking photographs! Major events: A major event for me was to be nominated in the 2016 Photographer of the Year awards Testimonials: I wanted something different as a present for my partner's birthday so spoke to Karen about a shot of his beloved Husky and the bear he loves. Karen completely understood what I was trying to achieve and we arranged a day for me to sneak out with both my dogs and take them to her studio. We all had so much fun! The studio and the setting are wonderful and very dog friendly and Karen knows exactly how to get the best from the dogs. She's patient but persistent in pursuing the brief. We used all sorts of toys and squeakers to get the perfect shot, and she nailed it. My partner was absolutely delighted. Whilst I was there, she took some gorgeous shots of my adorable Weimerana. I'm so glad we captured those moments as she's had medical issues since then that have affected her face. She's still adorable but the pictures were captured at her best. Karen has impeccably high standards and is a master behind the camera. I would recommend her to anyone who is completely in love with their dog and wants to capture the true essence of their personality. Hi - my name is McTed and I'm a Scottish Terrier. I'm also only 15 months old, so this was my first time in a studio. At the start of the session I was very nervous and my tail was down. Karen was very kind to me and let me inspect her camera. She also allowed me to bring in my best friend Bugsy who's a Black Labrador. He wrecked the place but I felt much happier! Karen was very patient with me. I'm not very good at staying still. Karen took photos of Bugsy too. He's a real pro. When my Mummy saw our photos she was beside herself with excitement and sent them to all her friends. Though I say it myself, my eyebrows do look pretty spectacular and the picture of Bugsy is very regal. Thank you Karen. Big woofs from Bugsy and me. Why I like the SWPP: SWPP has given me the confidence to move my photography to the next level by entering photographs in to the monthly competitions and attending the convention. Tagline: My tag line is: Capturing the essence of your pet Future plans: My future plans are to work towards an Associate Qualification and to be one of the best in my genre of Pet Photography Karen is also a member of SINWP Animals Pets More Photographers around Berkshire Photographers in Reading There are 20 days to get ready for The Society of Photographers Convention and Trade Show at The Novotel London West, Hammersmith ...
