Dave Henrys photographer in Flintshire Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: I would describe my photography style as a mix of traditional and contemporary. My greatest strengths: I like to think I have a good eye for a picture and a personality that can bring the best out of the people I photograph. I have been in photography: I have been a professional photographer since April 2006 but have been taking photographs for many years prior to that. How I got started in photography: My first SLR was bought 20 odd years ago after a good overtime job and I was hooked from then on. It took a good many years to reach the stage of making a living out of photography but I enjoy every minute of what I do now. My photographic skills: I have worked with computers for 30 years and am very I.T. literate, so digital photography is a strength. My personality: I am a friendly, people person, generally getting on well with everyone and having a bit of fun along the way. Geographic areas I cover: I live in Flint in Flintshire and cover all North East Wales and South Cheshire (and further again as necessary). Venues I frequently attend: I particularly enjoy photographing venues where they have made an effort to make themselves photogenic and where the staff understand the importance of the photographer as part of the event. I also enjoy photographing the wildlife at nearby Chester Zoo. I found inspiration from: I am inspired by anybody who uses the talent they have to produce something truly awesome. Success in photography: In 1999 and 2004 I won merit prizes and a place in the final of Chester Zoo's annual photographic competition then in 2003 reached the final of the Daily Mail's national photography competition. I was awarded a licentiateship with BPPA in 2006. Photographic training: OCN Level 2 and 3 in 2003 and 2004 and A-Level Photography (grade A) in 2006. My interests outside photography: I like football (I run the local veterans team and am a lifelong Manchester City fan!) and other sports such as cricket. I also enjoy listening to music, particularly while I'm working on my photographs. Major events: I have been married to Alison for 25 years and we have three children who have grown up with a camera in their faces every step of the way!
