Venue History: Dylan is one of Ireland s finest and most chic boutique hotels. Originally the nurses home for the Royal City of Dublin Hospital, it was designed by Albert Edward Murray in 1900 and completed in 1901. His other historic buildings consist of the Dublin Christian Mission, Chancery Place; the new front of the Royal City of Dublin Hospital, Upper Baggot Street; the Dublin Working Boys Home and the Harding Technical House. Albert Edward Murrays buildings are a mix of red brick alternated with bands of red sandstone from the welsh factory of Dennis in Ruabon, which still produces quarry tiles to this day.
In 1987, the nurses home closed when daily activities moved across the city to St James Hospital, it was then renovated and a transformation took place on the entire building and it re-opened in September 2006 as the Dylan.
