Venue History:

Some historical background

In 1949 the first Palais des Festivals opened at 50 Boulevard de la Croisette, on the site of the former Cannes Nautical Circle. The International Film Festival was held there until 1983 when the new building was opened.

The former Palais was then demolished to make way for the Noga Hilton hotel which was built in 1992.
The building was approved on the condition that it could accomodate an 820-seat auditorium.

In February 2006, the hotel was purchased by the Jesta Group headed by the businessman Elliott Aintabi who renamed it Palais Stiphanie, after one of his daughters.

Jesta embarked on the most spectacular and comprehensive renovations undertaken in the past ten years on La Croisette. It took months and months of work to plan and transform the hotel into an icon of style with chic, modern design, the perfect embodiment of the glamorous film festivals of the 1950s, with the luxury of today.

Other information: A truly star studded location set between the blue Mediterranean and Southern Alps in the heart of Cannes one of the most glamorous places on earth.

The legendary Palm stands as a cinematic icon in the uniquely majestic and artistically crafted lobby.

A new blend of luxury and glamour in the 261 bright spacious rooms and suites with interiors, designed to make you feel at home with French elegance.

Sophisticated furniture and stitched leather in shades of chocolate and cream all under the gaze of legendary film stars offer absolute luxury and style that will help you prepare for your audience.

Picture the pure blue Mediterranean landscape far and wide from the Panorama roof top where a swimmingpool and Jacuzzi parade as the premier attractions.
