There are no catering or bar facilities on site at Oakwell Hall which gives the wedding party the option to bring in their own preferred suppliers. A mobile bar can be hired or alternatively they can provide their own alcohol so long as they are not selling it.

Suitable locations inside the venue for wedding photography: The Wedding couple have the option to use the rooms in Oakwell Hall for wedding photography prior to leaving into the Walled Garden for more formal shots with family and friends.

Venue special features: Oakwell Hall is a stunning Grade I listed Manor House, built it 1583. The venue has a moat which is crossed to gain entrance to the Hall.

Oakwell Hall was used as the location for Wuthering Heights which was filmed here in 2008.
And most recently The Secret Diaries of Anne Lister, which was filmed here in 2009.

Venue History: Oakwell Hall was built in 1583 for John Batt and his family. It was their family home until after the Civil War when the family moved to America.
Over time it has been a boarding school for girls and boys and also lived in by tenants.
It was during the time that it was a girls boarding school when Charlotte Bronte visited. She went on to write her novel Shirley, in which Oakwell Hall is featured as Fieldhead.
