The Priory Hotel lies in the southeast corner of the ancient market town and port of Wareham and stands in over four acres of carefully and lovingly cultivated English cottage gardens, on the banks of the River Frome. An idyllic and enviable location where peace and tranquility prevails.
At The Priory we pride ourselves on the type of attention to detail and level of service that ensures the success of every event held at the hotel. Although the hotel is not licensed to hold marriage ceremonies it is situated adjacent to Wareham Parish Church and provides the most beautiful and memorable receptions anwhere in Dorset.
David Cooper, our Restaurant Manager, is responsible for co-ordinating and supervising all the hotel's functions, and has been with the hotel since 1982. If you feel that we may suit your needs for the special occasion you have in mind, then he would be delighted to discuss your requirements further.
The Priory's history stretches back for several hunderd years. For five hundred years there were monks in residence and before that a convent of nuns. All that remains of wide monastic lands are the four acres of gardens, running down to the delightful River Frome. Guests can even arrive by boat from Poole or beyond and tie up at our own jetty.
Rooms are available in the main building or a marquee can be erected on the lawn, or you can even take over the whole hotel for your exclusive use.
