Wedding services provided: We offer three standard packages of food and drinks to cater for various budgets but are happy to personalise to suit the happy couple.
Gardens or outside locations suitable for wedding photography: Woodhorn has some amazing listed colliery buildings and a stunning 21st century building that offer a totally unique photographic opportunity. If you would rather have open space, then the whole museum is located within a country park including a 40 acre lake. The museum also has a narrow gauge railway so that also offers a different opportunity for the bridal party and guests.
Suitable locations inside the venue for wedding photography: Inside the function rooms themselves. Other area might be possible by special arrangement.
Local picturesque areas suitable for wedding photography: Stunning coastline at Cresswell and Druridge Bay. Pretty riverside location at Wansbeck Riverside Park.
Venue special features: The buildings at Woodhorn are unique and include the original colliery heapstead and pit wheels.

Venue History: Woodhorn operated as a coal mine for over 80 years. It closed in 1981 reopening as a small museum in 1989 and following major investment and development, it was relauched in its current format in October 2006.
Other information: Woodhorn is a facsinating visitor attraction and archive as well as a function venue. It is open to the public all year round (Wed - Sun plus Tues in school hols and bacnk hol Mons).
