Phil: So what do you think are the key challenges facing photographers today?
Ronan: Well there are a number of challenges that professional photographers are faced with today. I've met a lot of photographers recently that are struggling to generate new and repeat business.
Of course, the ability to generate sales is critical to the success and longevity of any business. I feel that another challenge facing photographers is the ability to sell based on the quality of their work, ie their images. Historically photographers sold based on their range of products and this model is not as effective as it was in the past. We believe that in the future, photographers must break the photography and products into two sales, the first and most important is the coverage and any post production on the images. If this is where the photographer makes most of their income, it allows flexibility in the after sale of a product. This way the photographer can truly deliver what the customer wants whether that is a wedding album, print or 'high res image' service.
I think that more and more photographers will adopt this approach in the future.
Phil: So does The 3XM Solution and The Wedding Album Boutique address any of these issues facing photographers?
Ronan: Absolutely. A key element of our business model and The 3XM Solution is the ability to generate sales leads and enquiries for our network of photographers. We actively promote The Wedding Album Boutique brand direct to couples planning their wedding. This generates interest and enquiries and we push these enquiries directly to our network of photographers to help them win new business. Our business is built on our partnerships with professional photographers and we want to continue to build on these long-lasting relationships.
