What’s the worst commercial error you have made to date?
Forgot my charger for a shoot where I was using live view which means the battery is rinsed all day!

How did you rectify the mistake?
Took the camera off live view and Catherine (my stylist) had to look throughout he viewfinder instead!

The lessons learnt?
Always pack your camera charger and spare batteries for commercial shoots!

Is it getting harder or easier to make a decent living?
I think as long as you stay relevant and are constantly developing and keeping your work to expectionally high standard TOGETHER with a constant marketing drive for your business your in for a fruitful career. Always be the best you can be. Never stand still.

How do you stay ahead of the game?
Photography is a very technological and innovative world so keeping your offering fresh is important to stay ahead of the competition. Any extra skills you can add to your repertoire will make you stand out.

How do organisations such as The Societies of Photographers help?
There are so many reasons why The Societies of Photographers help, all the information, knowledge and guidance you get as a member is invaluable. Entering competitions is also very beneficial whether you win or lose, you learn so much by entering and receiving feedback, this ultimately makes you a better photographer.

Why is The Societies of Photographers Convention such a big deal for photographers?
The convention is THE event of the year. It is an opportunity for you to meet, in person, the best suppliers of our industry and see and touch the latest products which is so beneficial to get you on track for the rest of the year. You can also see firsthand current trends, listen to fantastic lectures with exceptional content, I've learned so much by attending lectures over the years. Finally one of the best things is you can network and meet up with industry friends and like minded people.
