Tell us a little about your background, your first camera and photographic experience and your subsequent emergence as a pro.
First camera was a Canon AE 1 film camera and I still have it yet tucked away in a cupboard somewhere. First digital camera was a Canon 20d which I loved and I now use Canon 5d mk3s. Although I hold a Fellowship in wedding photography and still photograph about 30 weddings a year my true passion is in wildlife photography.

Why photography?
For me photography is a creative art just like painting or playing a musical instrument

Film or digital? Is there still a place for silver halide?
No

Which camera?
Canon 5d mk 3s x 2 and 5d mk 2s.

Bit of detail about your own studio set-up/staffing. Why (as a customer) would I choose you?
I am lucky that I stay out in the country where I have a huge studio and office complex at the rear of my house, so very little overheads. I don’t have any staff and although my studio used to be a lot busier I am quite happy with the amount of family portraits I still take.

The problem with professional photographers today is…
The word professional only means you make ex amount of your income from in this case photography, it does not mean you are good at it. Most pro’s are very good but unfortunately there are far too many "unprofessional professionals" out there.

What’s the worst commercial error you have made to date?
Opened a high street studio with high overheads.
