The look I was undoubtedly most excited to try was a cracking silverbodysuit that had looked steely and robotic online but had turned outto be made of a material about as thick as the membrane on the surfaceof a leaf and was at least 70% hole, which obviously felt like a recipe forphotographic success! We descended to the bowels of the ship for thiswith the loose idea of 'bionic woman in engine room', but managed toget two very different effects. On the one side, cast into shadow I lookedstriking and powerful, but shifted to the other side of the room and struckwith a ring-flash the whole look was transformed to something funky andfresh. John's great at this, off-handedly throwing out option after optionas to how to use the space, the light and the model, and oblivious to thelooks of wonder from his onlookers. One of the most enjoyable thingsabout the whole Convention was watching this willingness to share, toinspire each other rather than compete with one another.
And then, of course, there was that ice-cold bridal set I mentioned at thebeginning, memorable if nothing else because what could feel more likegraduating into official modeldom than pulling your best 'regal' pose atthe top of a large structure whilst feeling the liquid streaming from yournose begin to freeze to your face, watching a group of builders mooningat you from a distance.
And nothing feels more like you've chosen the right career track thanlaughing about it in the bar later!
Thanks for welcoming me to the photography family, to The Societies, andto #TeamDenton. It was a pleasure I can't wait to repeat.
