The configuration panel is not frequently visited by the average user but setting the platen gap 'wider' will prevent scuffing and head strikes with thicker, stiffer baryta papers.
The Audit
This material holds a very high Dmax of 2.33 (we think the highest measured on a baryta). It is very bright and quite cool. The OBAs lift the base reflectance up to 102.5% on the spectro, a 9.5% lift above the base white.
The base tone colour is 4.6 Lab a and -7.2 Lab b - very cool indeed. Such statistics find favour with monochrome specialists as prints of great depth and punch are obtained.
The neutrals are mapped to the blue of the base paper-coating and (above right) this reflects in the skin tones which are also cooled and rotated towards red slightly. The eye, however, accommodates for the bias and is not unduly disturbed.
For the colour enthusiast, the gamut volumes are the highest value barytas we have measured.
As normal, the coolness of the base skewed the skin tones, rotating them into a more red/magenta position.
