Monochrome Prints

Papers such as this with a traditional fibre base look are favoured by the monochrome fraternity. Accordingly we tested using the Epson Advanced Black and White driver set at Neutral and Dark with a media setting of Premium Semi- Gloss Photo Paper (PSGPP).

This delivered a print Dmax of 2.61 with a CII (metamerism D65-A at 50% grey) of 2.31. The tone of the 50% aim patch was 48.70% / -0.8/ -1.83 so it is on near optimum colormetrics using these settings.

As suggested by the advertising, the Dmax is very high. The visual impression of the print was that it was just a little to the warm side of neutral in natural daylight.

Overall it was a fine looking print that would stand alongside any others with this class of paper.
