The biggest thing other people say about my style though is the narrative of my images. I've always been a fan of art that tells a story, and I eventually started putting ideas that were in my head into the camera. No matter how outlandish the idea was I would try to create it through photography. There was obviously a lot of trial and error with these processes, but this also taught me a lot about how to create the 'perfect' image. There is another aspect of my photography that I think differentiates me from others; I'm a perfectionist when it comes to the people in my photographs. Each and every person in a scene must be perfect, otherwise the story just doesn't work."

The Next Level

Still relatively new to the world of professional photography George is looking to see how he can develop and exploit his unique look, and he's found it incredibly helpful to have the support and encouragement of other professional photographers to help top drive him on to the next level. "I am constantly finding other photographers out there that inspire me to try new things and to develop my skills in areas that I am not as confident in," he says. "Joining the Societies three years ago was a big step for me. Not long after I started to take my photography a little more seriously someone recommended to me that I should join a photographic society. The Societies is the only group that I am a part of, and it's truly been one of the best decisions I ever made. Besides the qualifications I have achieved, that nomination in 2013 for Portrait Avant Garde Photographer of the Year was something that would never have happened without The Societies. The forums alone are worth the yearly membership fee, and I really attribute a lot of my development down to the feedback and support I receive from there and the wealth of information that people are willing to share."
