Denton in Jersey - part 2 of 1 2 3

Unfortunately the weather was a bit wet and gloomy but couldn't deter us from enjoying the experience. Nor could the fact that Colin was stuck in Manchester airport due to a delayed flight. Claire and I had a pleasant wander around St Helier town centre, plotting and planning some locations for the next two days. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a day and it got nicer once Colin found us and we were sharing a beer. Suddenly a very large cloud appeared on our horizon, it was 4pm on a Friday afternoon and we realised the wedding dress we'd ordered for Saturday's workshop hadn't arrived. ARRRGH! A quick bit of googling revealed two bridal shops in St Helier, and one was just around the corner. A quick phone call led us to Ellis who is truly a princess amongst bridal-house owners. She was cool, calm and collected and although she couldn't fit us in for a dress fitting that day we could call early on Saturday morning and she'd give us a dress to use. What a relief. It felt like an episode of the Apprentice had just finished with us having to blag items off a list against the clock.

Back to the hotel, a couple of drinkies and great to meet up with Graham Jackson who had flown over from London for the event.

Saturday dawned...dark and wet. It was a filthy day and we were under strict instructions not to get the dress wet or dirty. No pressure. Fortunately the hotel offered a range of shooting opportunities. We started off as I do all my shoots with some simple natural light headshots. Claire looked stunning in her dress and veil and I could have taken these sort of shots all day. All taken with a 24 - 70mm lens on D300 at f2.8.
