The third use is when making micro aquaria for photographing aquatic insects and small fishes when you need to keep the little blighters in a small space. The tanks are made from microscope slides but they have to be glued together very accurately to prevent leaks. The corners are used so that the glass can be rapidly placed and held for 15 seconds while the superglue sets.
They are plastic and so the glue toes not stick to the clamp. Do it all right and your tank will be water tight at the first time of asking.
So there you have it a couple of quids worth of clamps expanded to a full photography kit, mounting and framing studio that'll keep us busy on the desert island when we are not out looking for food!
Some quorum quotes
"Next time I'll build my own turnbuckle and cable. Stanley's design is terrible. I gave it a 2 rating ONLY because I liked the corner 45 degree brackets. If you buy this product, first thing to do is throw away the cable clamps and buy REAL clamps at the hardware store. Their clamps are horrible. It's hard for to believe Stanley would put out such a garbage product. C'mon Stanley, you can do better than this."
"Product is ok, but the cable clamps are worthless. You'll need to purchase 'normal' clamps, in order to make a satisfactory installation. Turnbuckle is also only so-so."
