Well, here we are at Focus on Imaging time and the Convention and PTO Lanzarote seem but a distant dream! The Convention was undoubtedly the best ever and may I take the opportunity to extend our thanks (and that of our readers) to the much-valued speakers and trade exhibitors, who so willingly gave their time, expertise and financial support to the event. Without them all, it would not be the spectacular success it has become.
We had a week's breathing space to sort through Walt Malone's images and biff the remains of the magazine into shape before jetting off to join George Dawber's 21st PTO celebrations in Lanzarote. Gosh it was tough having to get up in the warm sunshine, eat a leisurely breakfast and then stroll for some undiluted inspiration from the speaker lineup George had created! The evenings were accompanied by un-diluted alcoholic beverages, obtained by the simple expedient of waving the little green wristband at the friendly waiters. Some took greater advantage of this than others and the photographs in circulation will show that some really did a lot of wrist waving. We understand that John Parris has been retained for the next season in the piano bar, to accompany the resident tenor in duets. Arriving back to a howling gale, hail and a dead battery was a salutary slap in the face, but no quarter was asked for, or given. Enjoy Focus, come to the stand and say hello!
