Effective Website Coding - part 2 of 1 2 3

I made the big decision to block two weeks out of my diary to focus on a complete new website. There was the option of installing a fully built plug-and-play Wordpress website template and then simply dropping in my images and text but I felt this wouldn't give my website the potential to grow and evolve with the business. A mistake I had made already.

I knew my hourly costs from my business plan; I knew that I could hire a web agency and the costs of that but I also knew that if I invested this time uninterrupted from everything else then I would come out the other end with the exact website I wanted that would evolve as I wanted. The research in to Wordpress Templates and Themes was the most stressful part of the process for me. I kept coming back to areas that would involve me having to write code and that was something way beyond my capabilities but then I found Theme X.

This theme was fully customisable in terms of your layout options, navigation options and the like, but the great thing was it featured an in-built visual composer which allowed me to place headers, text and imagery as I wanted without having to code anything in. It allowed me to preview changes every step of the way so I could spot errors in design really quickly and rectify any mistakes. Although in principle this is a website template, it's a template that wouldn't really result in me having a site that looked exactly like hundreds if not thousands of other people's but with my branding and photos on it and that was priceless.
