Next we explored the HiGAM test set and as expected the high error was in the saturation. The gamut volume measured at 961,811, reasonably typical for the ink set, higher than that of the 3800 but very slightly lower than we measured for the 7990. The errors in the HiGAM target were dominantly in the lightness channel which was about 10% too dark. We noted that the profiles presently on offer are duplicated for PLPP, PGPP and PSGPP, only the working name has been changed.

Overall then this is a promising start and offers great potential for daily professional printing with the hint of more to come with a bit of tuning and profiling as the colour geeks get their hands on them. We will try and get some further tests completed in due course.
