The guide covers 13 cameras and looks back to some of the superseded models that have helped shape the Compact Camera System (CSC) revolution. Twelve lenses are covered from the 14mm f2.8 up to the XF 100-400mm f4.5/f5.6 LM OIS WR. Of interest to any readers pondering the jump to CSC is the discussion of 'sets' of lenses that you might buy for portraiture. In our experience the Fuji lenses are superb performers but do not come cheap, so you need to buy wisely.

Overall then, if you are standing on the edge waiting to jump into the world of lighter, compact cameras with few downsides then the book would make a sound investment. It is in the nature of things that as this is being typed, the photokina reports are filtering through of a medium format size digital camera from Fuji - the world is never still for long!
