"Overall with the FBG 325 and the Epson 3800 we squeezed the gamut volume to a new record high..."

Delta Matt Fibre

This is a smooth surface media with a base colour that is very close to pure neutral, even though the coating contains optical brighteners. The colour precision on test is good for a matt paper with most of the error being created by the contribution of the lightness component - a consequence of the lower Dmax. The skin tones for example had errors in hue and saturation of less than 1. The eye is clever enough to accommodate for the reduction in Dmax and its consequent overall lightening the print. As with the previous testing of this media (on the Epson 4000) we found the metamerism to be lower than others, which should please the monochrome workers once again

If you need the brighter, coolness of a paper with OBAs for reproduction of modern art, the Delta Matt Fibre fits the bill nicely.

We switched the Epson 3800 to the Matt Black ink variant for this test and used 2880dpi. We loaded the media through the rear top slot and used Ultra Smooth Fine Art Paper as the media setting.
