Convinced that he now knew where his future direction lay Adam Alex started to take on wedding photography for friends and slowly began to find his own style and his own way of establishing the easy rapport with clients that has become one of his trademarks. He also set about looking for photographers he could be inspired by and he quickly came across the Ghionis brothers. After signing up for a course with Jerry and Nick in Greece he hit it off so well with the pair that he was able to convince them that he had the personality and the drive required to be a superstar of the same calibre in his own country.
The rest, as they say, is history, and with a drive on to expand the Ghionis' XSiGHT brand into other countries utilising photographers who had the skills and charisma to front the new businesses, Adam Alex found himself in the position where he was able to set up XSiGHT UK. With the power of the brand behind him and with his own character and self-belief to drive things on, he's now consolidated his position as one of the most recognisable photographers and trainers in the country.
He's now set to step things up with a new series of activities that will include a number of presentations at the 2012 Convention, where he'll be holding a Masterclass, a Superclass and a full-day workshop on the final Monday in association with Nick Ghionis.
"I've been a member of the Societies for nearly four years now and I enjoy the opportunity it's given me to communicate with my fellow photographers," he says. "Next January will be my fourth year at the Convention and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2011 event. I was given one of the largest rooms at the Novotel to speak in and was happy to see it full to the brim and the doors having to be closed.
We had great fun for a few hours and I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone, speaking and educating again, and making some more great friends next year.
"At the 2012 Convention I will be talking about the principles of photography that we stick to across XSiGHT and showing how they contribute to us being the most powerful brand and the most awarded image-makers in the world. I will be explaining how light works in all situations and how it drives everything we do and there will be live posing demonstrations, live shooting, critiquing and I'll be showing images from my portfolio."
Adam Alex's Superclass, which takes place on the afternoon on Saturday January 14, is a hands-on look at wedding lighting and this is followed on the Sunday by a Masterclass on 'The Power of Making a Moment.'
On the final Monday of the Convention he'll link up with Nick Ghionis to present a full day of training on the streets of London where the pair will demonstrate how they approach their photography and will give practical demonstrations of their technique. All sessions are expected to be extremely popular and prior booking for the Superclass and Monday workshop is essential.
