Louise Sumner - Life long career as a photographer - part 1 of 1 2 3

Louise Sumner has been a photographer almost her entire life, from when she joined a camera club at the age of just 12. A degree in photography followed by winning a competition run by the menswear designer Paul Smith to visit fashion houses in New York and a stint as an architectural photographer, have all shaped Louise's photographic work into what it is today.

When I shoot weddings, it's about putting my own stamp on things,' Louise tells me. 'It's being able to envisage something and then being able to use the tools of photography to actually achieve that. That's what I love about it.' Many people find it difficult to transform their ideas for images into reality but it's something that Louise prides herself on being able to do. 'Even on weddings I'll imagine an image after post processing before I press the shutter button; I'll have an idea in my head of the final result before I shoot it.'
