Printing was carried out on all four of Epson's Signature Worthy fine art papers (the reason the shot was prepared in the first place was to provide samples for use at the Epson Print Academy). The surface structure of the Cold Pressed variants (Natural White and Bright White) rather interfered with the smooth lines of the sand and so both were rejected. Of the two Hot Pressed variants, the Bright White was preferred because it rendered the sky a cleaner blue; the warmth of the creamy, Natural finish produced a better looking sand but pulled the blue down towards yellow, contaminating it.
So that was it, a very quick upgrade to a simple shot to create an 'arty' image which has generally been well regarded; some people have been surprised at how quickly the job could be done.
