With the recent announcement of the partnership between SWPP and WPPI, Peter was keen to tell me about the Las Vegas convention that the WPPI holds every year. 'The first thing to know is that it's massive.' He's certainly not wrong on that point; the convention has over 12,000 registered attendees. 'Being in Las Vegas it also attracts some real superstars of the photography world too. It's a great atmosphere despite being so huge, everyone is so approachable and friendly - even the superstars!' Peter judges the print competitions at the WPPI convention and told me about what qualities you need to be a judge. 'You have to be forthright and truthful.

It someone disagrees with the score you have given a print, you have to be able to explain what you're seeing in the print that they are not.

Of course you also must be able to listen in case you've missed something that someone else has seen!'
