All the other stats are equally tasty. The Dmax is high at 2.37 and this from an overall error that is 1.12ΔE00L too light (sometimes we get elevated Dmax when the print error is towards too dark). The colour inconstancy index of metamerism is low at 1.64 (ΔE00 D65 to Tungsten A at 50% grey). The gamut volume is high at 1,062,350.

The skin tones delivered an error of less than 1 (just) and the Macbeth Swatch set was 1.18. The HiGAM errors were low at 2.04ΔE00 and within that the saturation errors were just 0.32 low (ΔE00 ΔC/w) - this is a particularly impressive statistic, the HiGAM patch set is designed to be right on the gamut boundary for HDR inks and is almost always compromised in testing.

25 sheets A3 is around £65 and the media is available from both Fotospeed and On-line Paper.

CONCLUSIONS

Overall, then, we cannot pour enough praise on the statistics, they are a record set on almost every parameter we apply and a testament to the present day standard of media, coatings, inks and profiling kit.

This leaves the final question, do we like it? If you are a devotee of bright papers then this one is not for you.

However, if you are looking for an OBA free natural base media with the traditional look of a fibre based product, your search is over. It is worth adding a little perspective to these findings; the baryta class materials are universally good and the incrementing of the accuracy is pleasing to get but will not be very noticeable without very careful and controlled examination. However, if it is the bragging rights you are after Photographique has it, no ifs, no buts.

Note that we also tested the monochrome performance in detail in the previous feature - as you might expect it was impeccable!
