The error statistics show that working on the profile brought the 4800 printer closer to Fogra contract proof specification than the single tuning for the 7880. Overall the statistics are good, certainly way inside what the average client will be able to detect. The ability to make prints of this precision is, however, useful for resolving disputes about say the colour balance of commercial photography.

Audit test

For completeness we list the error statistics we achieved after three iterations on the Epson 4800 and in another test set from one iteration on an Epson 7880. The results are not the very best we have achieved, but are very much at the top end. The profiling of the paper enabled us to measure the gamut volume from both the 4800 and 7880 as follows: As expected the 7880 with Vivid Magenta is slightly larger.

Once we had created a tuned profile and obtained contract proof standard we proofed the cover for this issue!
