Crop and expression were chosen to echo the Lategan image. Ok so that's two images from my recent time in the Ice Tank, Covent Garden - let's make it a hat trick!
I had the pleasure of teaching several workshops, amongst other things, whilst in London. I'd only seen images of the Ice Tank prior to my arrival and knew it was a clean white space with a funky kitchen. It was this that got my creative juices going and came up with the concept shoot here ...
'What's cooking in the Big Dog's kitchen'. This is a six-light set-up, it sounds complex but the reality is that it's not the demon you probably think it is.
I gave a little insight to my 'lego brick' technique of lighting whilst in London and I think it's more than fair to say the audience found it a revelation in how they could visualise, build and develop their own lighting set-ups.
I sincerely hope that the image captivates, intrigues and draws you in.
Why? Simply because I want you to want to know more about my 'lego brick' technique, I want you to need to know how I light my images for one simple reason...
I WANT to tell you, I'm happy to share - no smoke and mirrors. I want to help you be the image-maker you want to be, I want to help you build your business. I want the industry to regain strength and grow.
January and the Convention isn't far off. Consider this, the fee you pay the Societies to come and see me do the full-day seminar on the Thursday of the Convention and spend the day immersed in creative photography and business will be minuscule in comparison to what the new knowledge gained will help you earn in your near future - can you afford not to make the investment in your future, can you afford to be left behind as you surely will by those whom attend?
Hey and don't forget, this is my only BIG seminar for the Socieites purely on lighting and business. Yes I'll be there and yes I'll be sharing snippets of how I do what I do happily and freely but why have just the starter when at the moment you can have that and the main course?
Look it's very simple - my mission is this ... I want to help YOU get YOUR photography and YOUR business where YOU want it, come and see me and the Team and let's see how we can help you. I'll spend my time giving demos, presentations and just generally chewing the photographic fat in the Olympus lounge. You don't even need to be an Olympus user to benefit from this you just have to LOVE photography and WANT to learn and develop - it really is that simple.
It's time to wake up and smell the coffee ... continual professional development IS they way forward ... get on it now!
Till next time
