Now that analogy, I believe, rather cleverly leads me on to the pictures to illustrate my point further, echoing those philosophers of the 80s (Bananaramma) in that it 'ain't what you do but the way that you do it'. Go on, push yourselves to be better and heal my beloved profession, I dare you...no, I double dare you!

The images are of one of the country's up and coming (because he's putting the time, effort and funding in) track stars - Matt is a very talented 400 metre hurdler. Now the images could have been shot with any brand of equipment, speedlight or monobloc, it's not the gear that was important it was how it was used.

More importantly it was the ease it was done with. Just fifteen minutes from start to finish and what you see here is what we saw on the back of the camera. A little gear but all the idea. Don't take my word for it... ask Matt's mum who was blown away with the images of her boy, an eminent photographer in her own right! None other than the lovely Louise Sumner, obviously a very talented family...Grrrrrrr!!!
