I'd like to say that I was fearless and brave but that would be a lie and my mum would tell me off. I was nervous when we were introduced to the little wrigglers but, when eight foot Suzy was brought out, I wasn't keen.
Fortunately the two experts who had provided the snakes, Jon and Paul, were fantastic and took us all through a lesson in their behaviour and handling requirements. Within half an hour we were all draped in scaly beauty and having a ball.
Then it was time to get down to business.
Our make-up artist, Louise, started model, Jade, off with a basic beauty look using browns and golds. We chose this palette of colours to go with the colouring of the snakes. Jade brought a few outfits and accessories that would match. We were being hosted for the shoot in the Newcastle studio of 'Judo' Joe Laws, a good mate and a great location to work in. He had a range of papers and backdrops and for these shots I used white and black papers and a couple of vinyl floors and backdrops from Click Props.
