A good example for this is someone's holiday photos, my parents recently went on holiday and came back with the usual snap snots that get taken. One of my mums favourite photos is a shot taken of her and my dad, now the photo is technically terrible, it's about 4 stops under exposed and has an ashtray filling half of the frame from where the camera was set on self timer and put on the table. My mum absolutely loves this photo and has asked me to get it printed and framed big. It's not the photo shes in love with but the memory that it gives. Now I'm not saying we should all forgot about the technical side of things and our quality control but think we should concentrate more on creating a fun experience for our clients and just as importantly ourselves.
Let the artist within you create the image and the photographer create fun side of things.
Everything in our world started off as an idea, the camera, the car you drive to this computer that I'm typing on. Most of these ideas would have been laughed at and called impossible at one time or another. But these people who laughed didn't see the vision that the inventor held. I think this is something we should consider when thinking up our own ideas with our photography. Lets take a step back and think before we shoot.
Lets try to make an impact and show the world our own vision as individuals. I'll be holding a seminar at the Convention where I will talk about my ideas and also perform a shoot with a model around the hotel.
