Lisa had an action-packed schedule at the Convention where she gave three separate talks over the course of the week. At business school Lisa talked about how to think like a bride in order to develop your business. 'We've found our brides ask for photography that is in the style of adverts in fashion magazines,' Lisa says. 'If they see a lot of black and white images in fashion magazines, for example, then that's what they're going to be looking for in their wedding photography'. Developing your portfolio in line with changing fashions is vital for anyone competing for business in the world of wedding photography.
Lisa also be delivered two technical Masterclasses; the first on how to process an entire wedding in a morning. Developing your own Lightroom presets can be a powerful tool in your digital darkroom and Lisa demonstrated how to get the best from the software in order to optimise your workflow. The second Masterclass talked about lighting for high ISO shooting so that you can capture natural looking shots whatever conditions the venue presents you with. It also covered the technical skills needed to shoot at the higher ISOs that dSLRs now offer and getting the best from challenging lighting situations.
