I decided since the Convention is almost upon us I'd talk a little bit about the subjects I'm covering in January, to give you an idea of what to expect. I'm doing three classes, all of which will involve location shooting.
The first class and the main one I am doing, is my superclass on Friday afternoon 'shoot to final image in minutes.' This is a four-hour class and will cover how I work on a shoot, be it wedding or portrait, and my efforts to get the image as near to the final image as possible in camera, and then use very simple post processing techniques later. On this class I will be mainly going through getting the exposures right, planning for the final image so you save yourself work later, and eventually do some work in Photoshop, showing how I finish the image off. It really is a very simple process if you have a plan, and this allows you to concentrate on the more creative side of the shoot, thinking about poses, composition, etc, and not worrying about the rest.
There are 21 days to get ready for The Society of Photographers Convention and Trade Show at The Novotel London West, Hammersmith ...
which starts on Wednesday 15th January 2025
