There can be no doubt that even as a new face in the fashion industry Emma-Jane has begun to show a consistent and recognisable style. 'I try to create very soft and beautiful images with my fashion photography and I think that appeals to brides as well so I've managed to get some good cross-over between the two areas of work. Of course putting brides in the kinds of situations that Emma-Jane loves to shoot - such as a bath of milk for one model - is unlikely to appeal to brides, but she is convinced that this kind of imagery does appeal subconsciously to the more fashion-conscious couple. 'It's important to me to try to inject some of my fashionstyle into weddings, keeping them quite soft, ethereal and feminine. However, I do always make sure that I shoot the more mainstream images too, while trying not to forget who I am as a creative person.'
I asked Emma-Jane where she'd like to be in the future with her work and her business. 'At the moment I'm trying to get funding to create a location studio with beautiful props and a really great feel to it. I'd love to be able to rent out to film and TV companies. In turn I'd hope that would allow me to network with the kinds of people that I'd like to network with to further my photography.' But what about the kinds of clients that she would like to eventually have? 'I'd love to be represented by an agency who could open doors for me. I find it hard to sell myself sometimes, so having someone in my corner and waving my flag would be good! Most importantly though, I'd love to work for clients who have a good budget and would allow me to have more creative flexibility! But at the moment as long as someone has got beautiful garments and they pay me to shoot it, I'm completely happy!'
