The building we shot in is very tight for space, so it's not that easy to get lights exactly where you need them to be whilst maintaining flexibility with posing and composition. We had the Quantum in one room firing into the corridor, the blue light on the floor in the background firing up onto the wall, and the other light in another room firing out into the corridor.
In images 1&2 the Quantum is behind me and to my right, the second light is in a room to my left. For image 1 I turned the second light off, and lit her with Quantum and had the blue gel fire, then I switched zone a off and zone b on and got a totally different effect. In image 3 I turned b off and a on again and shot from a different angle
The next two images, 4 and 5, both have the Quantum firing behind and to my right, with the other flash behind the model. I then shot with zone c (blue gel) off and then on. I liked the added colour and cold feel brought by using the blue light.
We then moved to a nearby building and shot some more images using scrap metal and chains. Similar lighting set-ups were used. One of the images shows the position of the three flashes.
The Pocket Wizards are really easy to use, and well made. Some triggers feel flimsy on the camera but these are very solid. I loved the fact I didn't have to switch things on and off during the shoot. I've been using these for a while but only ever in a one light set-up on weddings and fashion shoots. I have a load of ideas for using these in other scenarios now. There are endless possibilities using these versions.
