There's also the lab's acclaimed print service that deals with thousands of orders each day,

with slick turnaround times that can be as fast as 24 hours. Again, silver halide is well up to the challenge - brought bang up to date through digital exposure plus computerised control that takes care of the necessary day-to-day chemical replenishment.

No one needs to get their hands dirty these days, there are no all-pervading noxious fumes; valuable silver is recovered, while other potentially unpleasant elements are removed from the spent chemicals. And what's left is then so innocuous that there's no danger of it causing any harm to the environment.

The best tools for the job

Despite the views of some opinion-formers, the fact is silver halide technology didn't die the death they predicted, the moment that digital came over the horizon.

Indeed Fujifilm and others have never stopped working on the technology and improving their silver halide products, with the result that their papers are still way ahead of the pack and still delivering exceptional quality.
