"Even though there have been advances as far as the digital products are concerned the R&D that Fuji has continued to undertake over the last ten years has been tremendous. They have introduced added value elements such as 'Finger Print Protection' - so customers no longer have to worry about having smudged fingerprints on the surface of photographs when they're browsing their photobooks - and it all just helps to move things on to a higher level."
"If you compare the silver halide paper market now to what it was fifteen years ago, it's much less problematic.
The consistency of Fujifilm professional silver halide papers is what really appeals to us: the fact that you can send prints out to the end user without ever having to question whether it's going to come back because there's a problem. There's never an issue - and outstanding longevity comes with the paper. "
'We're in this relationship with Fujifilm for the long-term'
Supplier relationships are key for Loxley Colour.
Says Ian: "We've been using Fujifilm products since 2006, but prior to that we were with their chief rivals for 40 years, and we had some tremendous personal relationships there as well.
But even though we didn't spend any money with Fujifilm before we moved across, for the ten years prior to that Fujifilm's Business Imaging Manager Jon Cohen and his team were always friendly, professional and helpful to us, and that made a big impression. In the end I moved across to Fujifilm for technical reasons, but the attitude of the company and its sales people helped to make that decision easier for us."
