The most common mistakes reported by Gordon include photographers not looking at the background in their images before they press the shutter, not taking any training before they embark on photographing someone's wedding day, lack of vision to see what a location has to offer them and also not being aware of what pose would suit their selected location. All of these basic errors can be avoided, but you need to learn how to think about what you're doing, and to throw yourself wholeheartedly into learning more about your trade and how to do the right things through sheer instinct.
Both of Gordon's Superclasses at the Convention should be must sees for anyone wanting to learn the ropes and to improve the quality of the work that they're turning out. The first of these takes place on the Friday and, just in case there is any confusion about what it's covering, the title 'Detail, Detail, Detail' should give you a clue!
