Grunge brushes are also very cool and can set a great mood too, for the right image! [Fig 17] This is a shot of the worship team at a recent conference, and the mood was transformed with the application of cool Grunge Brushes by Graphic Authority (use code: Allen20 for 20% off!!). Each brush was put in a colour (yellow or red) and then a blending mode to make it more dimensional and intense (hard mix, hard light and colour burn). The final print was put on Fuji Pearl Metallic paper and is absolutely awesome! [Fig 18] A poster for the same band was created for their tour and the brushes were added to the empty space at the bottom to set the mood and creatively fill the space. To learn how to make your own banners, see my Banner Smarticle from a few months ago!
Making a lame image into something very dramatic and stylized is easy with brushes too! [Fig 19a] This image is of my husband's son, after one of his dance competitions! No flash, just an overhead 'can light' in a hallway for illumination-it needs a little help! [Fig 19b] With the application of some Vintage Brushes and distressed edges, it's a major transformation! That certainly changes the mood, don't you think?
So here we are again, in over our heads with options and creativity...there is just no end to the possibilities with Photoshop! We can't do them all - just take a couple of ideas and apply it today to one of your holiday orders and I guarantee it will get your client's attention!
Happy Brushing and Ornamenting...(here I go again, making up my own words!!)
