The resizable Mixer palette is a big improvement - it will un-dock from the Color Palette group and expand up to 1600 pixels in width giving a lot more room to mix colours. This is a feature I love to use and it will save time being able to use the arrow keys to change the look of the colour instead of using opacity.#]
Other new features include new hard media brush variants which are really useful for drawing, new Marker Brushes and my favourite - a pen tilt for Wacom. You can control the width of a brush by adjusting the angle of the pen - as you would when painting with a ' real media' brush. Copy and Paste facility allows copy of a file complete with layers and its canvas - a very useful addition.
The new colour management is much better in Painter 11. There is a pull down menu for choosing colour profiles when making a new file or opening a file. This means there is now more compatibility between Painter and Photoshop. I remember being frustrated using the previous version when a picture looked dull when opened in Painter and reverted to its former glory when opened again in Photoshop to be viewed in Adobe RGB colour profile
