By mid afternoon we were back at the hotel. No rest for the wicked, though, as that evening I sat on a panel of photographers and marketeers exploring the role of branding in photography. It was fascinating to hear the views of my fellow panellists as well as the audience in the two hour debate expertly chaired by Joe Zammit Lucia.
Saturday was our day to introduce the island to the world of art nude photography. It's a little-explored genre on Malta due to the conservative social attitudes that have prevailed there. By the end Nikki and I had converted a number of delegates to our way of thinking that this is the purest form of people photography and one that should be explored by every photographer serious about developing their craft.
It was extremely rewarding to hear the feedback of delegates about how much they'd got from the session.
The afternoon was given over to judging panels and it was wonderful to see a lady I had mentored, Kerstin Arnemann, gaining her Licentiateship.
