One benefit that many SWPP members will be excited about is the print competitions that are run by the WPPI. Dennis is proud to be a judge with the WPPI and he also holds the title of Triple Master of WPPI. 'What the WPPI have instead of the qualification levels is a system of Honors. Each time you have a picture in a print competition that scores 80 or above you receive an Honor. When you reach 20 points you become a Master, 35 points is a Double Master and 50 points is the coveted Triple Master award'.

And so I wanted to know what advice Dennis had for those considering working their way up the ranks of the WPPI. 'It's really tough to get a score of 80 in the print competitions. You can't guess what pictures judges will like. What you do find, however, is that where we think that our pictures in Britain can be quite ordinary they can look quite extraordinary to international judges! They aren't used to seeing the same scenes that we are.' But competition is fierce in the WPPI competitions. There can be up to three and a half thousand entries, around seven times as many as the SWPP print competitions! Perhaps it's time to go to Las Vegas and show them the best of what Britain has to offer? And of course for those who find success, they can call themselves and international award winning photographer!
