How do you attract clients and what market do you target?

With difficulty! Marketing is definitely not my strength.

I advertise at as many local craft fairs as I can. If they're indoors and the organisers allow, I set up a mini studio and take photographs in aid of Cash for Kids. It’s a great way of building my client list. I run Facebook ads, mostly unsuccessfully, despite the most stringent targeting. I contact past clients by email every eight week with events, offers and tips - I should probably do it more often, but I’m not the speediest of writers. My main markets are children, people, dogs and student make-up artists.

Do you manage your own website, SEO, marketing, social media presence and PR or do you outsource?

I have just enrolled onto Alan Hutchison's Managed SEO programme, to improve the ranking of my website.

Everything else I manage myself.
