This Glasgow-based outfit will also be well known to members of the SWPP. As the icing on the cake it just picked up a trophy for the Best Professional Album Range at The Societies' Trade Awards for the second year in a row for its Bellissimo Albums range.
As you would have expected though, there were new products at the show including a 'book and USB box' solution. For the photographically printed book and USB prices start from £99 for 10 spreads, book and 8GB USB, with customers being able to have up to 30 spreads. The USB stick can also be personalised, while there are 21 colours of leatherette to choose from with the ability to customise your package with UV printing designs or the addition of text. Size wise the box is 340x182mm, and the book is 9x6 inches landscape.
Alternatively photographers can go for a classy, natural light-wood USB box option at £18, with the USB stick at £10.25 for an 8GB capacity, which, if you are just going to be presenting digital files to a client, in combination makes for more of a wow factor when handing over the package. There is the ability here to add text, UV printing or laser etching to the wooden lid of the box, or an actual image with a natural or white base finish; the same goes for the USB stick. The USB box size is 105x80mm. Volume order discounts are available for those shooting a multitude of jobs - simply upload your logo for bulk branding.
Sim Imaging
Known widely for its albums, books and presentation products the news from Sim2000/Sim Imaging is that it has a new and improved mobilefriendly site to suit photographers on the go. This has, it claims, made it even easier to view its professional products, pricing and technical info. In addition there is a new 2015 Sim brochure to download with all the products from the Sim brands, including Sim Frame.
New products to plug to your social photography clients here include a very cool free-standing metal desk display. This comes in four unique metal finishes, in five sizes and in portrait, landscape and square formats. Sim claims that its latest printing techniques can provide deep and vibrant colours as well as detail and resolution that it reckons is 'unsurpassed'. If the above seems a little too contemporary, an alternative is a custom wooden desk display for that lovely organic feel. This is printed directly onto a 4mm thick quality wooden base and again is available in five sizes and in portrait, landscape and square formats, all with a wooden stand holder on the back. See simframe.co.uk/desk-displays/ for more on both metal and wooden desk displays.
The company has also been busy on the USB-related presentation product front. Sitting under the Sim Imaging brand are new Vintage USB boxes, like others here pitched at the digital-only weddings market. Starting from £25, the boxes are said to be hand painted/finished in a choice of black or white. The black option is available with white text or line art, on both the lid of the box and a single side of a wooden USB stick. Should photographers choose the white option, then they can print their logo or an image on the lid and USB stick in full colour. The Sim box measures 10x10x7cm, and has a removable lid, with eco-friendly wooden wool inside. The USB drives are available in 8GB or 16GB, in the same colour as the choice of box.
Priced from £15 are new Snap USB boxes. These are hand-made from brown recycled card which has a light ridged surface texture and hidden magnetic clasp. The lid can be customised to display personalised line art or text design, printed in black ink only. Inside the box is white with a soft lining and an elastic tie to hold the key neatly in place. Snap boxes also come with a wood and black swivel USB key, or without, as desired.
