The test prints show that you can get quite a lot of information from one A4 but a single sheet is only a starting point for more refined testing. The relatively cooler tone of the gloss and satin, on the right, should survive the press-printing of the magazine.

Our conclusion is then that these art papers are a niceaddition to the market, offering an enhanced choice of topqualitysurfaces of different 'signatures'. Our experience withthe limited number of test samples (these first samples werefreshly into the country) reinforces the tactic you shouldemploy. Buy a 'Discovery Pack', make a set of prints, ignoringany slight variations on tonal balance, then Fotospeedwould love to sell you a box of your choice and will evenmake you a bespoke profile! Then refine your setting totaste using a few sheets and away you go, you are not goingto be let down by any of these papers from what we haveseen so far - amusez-vous bien!
