When photographers approach Melissa to rebrand their business she is careful to make sure that people don't feel detached from the process. Hiring a designer can be quite an intimidating process for many and in her lectures Melissa seeks to demystify the process. "I love to tell people that you can control the creative process. I think it's really good to be armed with that knowledge before spending more or time on your business. You don't just have to get what you're given. You have to fall in love with what's being created for you because if you don't, you're the one who has to look at it and use it every day!"

In the future Melissa believes that marketing ourselves will become ever more personal. "Video blogging and personal videos are huge in America. Having worked quite closely with lots of American clients over the past few years, where they go we tend to follow in our own slightly more strange way." So perhaps now is a good time to take Melissa's advice about branding yourself into your business and getting one step ahead of the crowd, while looking ahead to see what innovations the rest of the world is bringing to their business.
