Now the Wimbledon-based studio has added a blossoming new string to its bow:
Vintage Boudoir™.
When Julia, dubbed by a tabloid as 'Britain's sexiest portrait and wedding photographer', launched her Forties and Fifties pin-up portrait shoots, she couldn't believe the response. She tells Professional Imagemaker, "Originally the idea was to offer brides-to-be a high-quality, sexy photo-shoot session that they could really enjoy, before sharing the pictures with their husbands. But we've been inundated with calls from all over the country, not just from brides wanting the post-war-style portraits, but from single women who just can't wait to escape to a different age - if only for a few hours."
It seems women can't get enough of the UK's latest retro fashion photo craze. The four-hour, £455-a-time Forties make-over sessions include make-up and hair styling - and special wardrobes designed and handmade by the Boggio studio. Adds Julia, "UK women live such high-pressure, non-stop, full-on lives these days and these especially themed, vintage boudoir sessions enable them to forget all their cares for just a little while. My shoots recall an era when women had time to spend on hair and make-up...time to just be feminine. These images aren't 'in your face' erotica they are just a really sexy tease...men just love them. Our customers aren't buying them to hide away in albums; they are buying them as wall art."
