When it comes down to purchasing pictures from weddings or portrait sessions, Sam finds that clients are much more likely to place images on their wall that show artistic flair. 'A lot of clients don't like putting large, traditional portraits of themselves on the wall. But if an image incorporates design, interesting lighting and great composition, and then it's printed in a fine art way, there's no reason in the world that a client won't display that photograph as a work of art.'
The fundamentals of great photography
As well as running a boutique photography business working with all kinds of wedding and portrait clients, Sam also travels the world giving lectures on photography. 2014 will be the fourth time that Sam will be returning to London to speak at the Societies' Convention. This year he will be delivering two Masterclasses on shooting timeless images and how to produce photographs that have both visual and emotional impact for your clients.
One Masterclass at the Convention will be completely focused on creating beautiful bridal portraits.
At the two Masterclasses Sam will talk delegates through his personal style and how he incorporates the technical aspects of photography into an image that has artistic and emotional appeal. Being able to produce top-quality bridal portraits during the course of a busy wedding day can really help to set your work apart and will encourage clients to come back to you time and time again.
