Earlier this year Vicki-Lea hosted her own exhibition featuring both her Women in Art series and a range of creative children's portraits. 'In a way the exhibition was a way of proving to myself that what I set out to achieve was really happening.' The exhibition was a success and Vicki-Lea took so many bookings for portrait sessions that she's only just finishing them up now! 'I've literally had a jam-packed diary for a year. It really reassured me that I have done the right thing with my photography.'
But it wasn't all about the bookings, the opportunity to network with other photographers was also an experience that Vicki-Lea found valuable: 'I had quite a few really good photographers turn up and it's always nice to get their views on your images.
Some of them were real purists who were producing completely different images to the ones I had on display. I thought that they came to criticise, but they both said that although it wasn't to their taste, they could really appreciate the skills that I had put into my work.'
