What do you love the most about being a photographer?

Wow, there are so many things! I'm naturally a very creative person so photography is a wonderful creative avenue.

Being able to adapt my working days to suit me and my family has been brilliant, but sometimes it's not that simple, and sacrifices have to be made.

I'm incredibly passionate about animals and have spent many years learning to interact with them, especially with dogs. In turn this has meant I've been able to capture stunning images for clients who thought they're animal would not behave long enough to be professionally photographed.

There's also something truly rewarding about capture special moments, be it at a wedding, family celebration, or lifestyle photo shoot - knowing that in years to come, those images could become the most important of memories for someone.

Who inspires you?

Honestly, too many to mention! And every year that list grows. When I first started the business I discovered the work of Lindsay Dobson and Paul Walker. Whilst their styles differ, they are both exceptionally talented photographers and their images captivated me.

Years later, I was lucky enough to spent time with Lindsay and she has become a good friend whose work continues to amaze. Early on in my career, I was also very fortunate to meet John Denton and his wife Liz. Through John's training, I started believing in myself more as a photographer.

Many who inspire me are not even photographers. One such person is my husband Mike, who has supported me through so much, both emotionally and physically, and who continues to do so. I couldn't have come this far without him. Then there are my children, who are always so proud of every photography award I achieve.

Last, but not least, is my closest friend Laura. She's been my harshest critic, yet my biggest fan. She doesn't sugar-coat anything, instead provides the honesty required to help me see things as they really are. These and many others, are people who have a zest for life, who see beauty in things others pass without noticing, who are genuine, honest, kind and giving.
